Online conference demands more resources for women and TVET
More investment is needed to create new curricula, training methods and standards for accountability of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for women. This was one of the recommendations that emerged from a recent online conference on women and TVET (5 -15 December), part of the e-forum of UNESCO-UNEVOC, the Organization’s International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
Discussions covered the influence of living conditions on the access andparticipation of women in TVET; the role of TVET institutions; experiences, innovations and good practice and TVET and entrepreneurship for women.
The forum allowed for a better understanding of the situation of women in education, society and the workplace and showed how the issue of eliminating traditional barriers to women in TVET are addressed in different countries.
The hub of a worldwide network of TVET institutions, UNESCO-UNEVOC helps UNESCO's member states strengthen and upgrade their TVET systems.
