During the biennial E-9 Ministerial Review Meetings and accompanying expert meetings, country representatives focus on a specific theme for a two-year period, taking into account best practices, common obstacles and opportunities for collaboration. These meetings also discuss measures to strengthen collective and bilateral cooperation between E-9 countries on EFA, and explore modalities for E-9 support to other countries of the South, notably Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
UNESCO’s EFA team and the rotating E-9 Secretariat (housed in one of the E-9 Ministries and supported by the local UNESCO office) of the current Ministerial Meeting) play the vital role of facilitating and coordinating the work of this group. Each E-9 country also has a designated E-9 focal point to facilitate liaison and organization of meetings for ministers, officials and experts in parallel with major EFA events. Previous meetings
