Senior Policy Analyst
Kwame Akyeampong joined the EFA Global Monitoring Report Team in December 2011. Until his appointment, he was the Director of the Centre for International Education at the University of Sussex, where he was also a Reader in International Education. Kwame has published on a range of topics on educational development in Africa, with a particular focus on Ghana. His area of expertise includes educational assessment and evaluation, analysis of secondary education in Africa, educational access, technical and vocational education, mathematics education, and teacher education. He has been a consultant on several education evaluation and research projects for the World Bank, DFID, JICA and USAID. He holds a BSc in mathematics and chemistry, a Masters in mathematics education (University of Leeds) and a PhD on educational assessment (University of Nottingham).
