Nicholas Burnett was Director of UNESCO’s EFA Global Monitoring Report from October 2004 until September 2007, where he maintained the Report’s editorial independence and high standards. From September 2007 until October 2009 he was UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education. He now leads the education group at the Results for Development Institute, Washington DC (R4D), where is a principal and managing director.
Mr Burnett, from the United Kingdom, has spent his entire career working on developing and transition countries, much of it on Africa. As well as working for the World Bank, he also worked at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office as an Economic Adviser on Africa and Latin America and managed his own international consulting firm, specializing in human development and strategic management.Back to top
