New figures on aid to education
July 2010 - According to new analysis by the Global Monitoring Report team, in 2008 global aid spending on basic education remained unchanged at US$4.7 billion.
Only US$2 billion of this aid went to the poorest countries compared to the US$16 billion in aid required annually for these countries to meet their basic education goals by 2015.
