The 2011 Posters for Tomorrow exhibition, “The Right to Education”, will be opened at the Musée des arts décoratifs in Paris on 8 December 2011.

The exhibition (8-11 December) is the culmination of a poster competition organized by UNESCO and the 4Tomorrow association to stimulate thought and debate on human rights issues, both in and beyond the design community. Mr. Kishore Singh, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to education will attend the event.

The 4Tomorrow competition, which is held annually, received over 2,700 submissions from 88 countries around the world, 100 of which were selected for the exhibition that will be launched on the eve of Human Rights Day (10 December). The 100 winning posters will also be displayed in exhibitions being launched on the same day in over 30 cities worldwide, and subsequently, in 2012, at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.

The Right to Education exhibition sets out to sensitize a broad audience about illiteracy in contemporary societies, and more generally to foster the capacity to understand and face global social issues through creativity.
