Trends in Higher Education & the OECD
This presentation will survey recent trends in higher education and the growing focus on quality, evaluation and ranking. The origins and aims of the OECD-led feasibility study on the Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes (AHELO) will be outlined and progress described. This ground-breaking initiative is in part a response to the dominance of international rankings based largely on research and reputation. The challenges inherent in the study as well as some initial findings will be presented.
