UNESCO organizes ICTs and Education debate at Information Society Forum

The purpose of the World Summit on the Information Society is to ensure that the economic, social and educational benefits of information and communication technologies (ICTs) are accessible to all while promoting specific advantages in areas such as health, education, literacy, cultural diversity, gender equality and sustainable development.

UNESCO is organizing two high-level debates at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2010, held from 10-14 May in Geneva, Switzerland. The Organization will also moderate a session on ICTs and Education on Tuesday 11 May. The WSIS Forum is being organized by UNESCO, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Proceedings will be webcast.
