Africa Week at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France (23-27 May) celebrates the continent’s cultural diversity. It is organized by the African ambassadors to UNESCO to promote regional integration and international cooperation. Africa Day is celebrated on 25 May - the date of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (today’s African Union) in 1963.

To mark the occasion, and the priority that Africa represents for the Organization, here is a snapshot of research, activities and projects carried out in Africa by the Education Sector:
