#DrawDisability Art Book Published

To mark the successful end of the #DrawDisability Campaign, a yearlong global campaign on inclusive education, GEFI together with Global Observatory for Inclusion (GLOBI) and GEFI Youth Advocacy Group (GEFI-YAG) has published the #DrawDisabilty Artbook.

Following the launch of the campaign on 3 December 2014, GEFI has organized three exhibitions of selected drawings at international events including the World Education Forum in Incheon, Republic of Korea in May 2015, at UNICEF HQ in June 2015 and at UN HQ in December 2015. To raise awareness on issues related to disability and the importance of inclusive education, the Campaign chose to hold a roundtable event on “Leave No One Behind: Continuing Conversations on Inclusive Education” on 3 December 2015, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The book features 100 selected drawings from around the world. Children, many of who are disabled, were asked to portray challenges that people with disabilities face - either physically, mentally or socially – in societies and in accessing education. Accessible electronic version of the book will be available through the GEFI website.
