Nureldin Satti is currently Director of the National Library of Sudan. From 2008-2009, he was Distinguished Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center (USA). He was appointed Deputy to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Burundi in September 2002. From 1992 to 1996, he served as Ambassador to France as well as Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. In 1998, Ambassador Satti was appointed Special Representative to UNESCO for the Great Lakes Region. As Director of the UNESCO PEER Programme in Nairobi (1998), he was closely involved in the Somalia Peace Process. Mr Satti joined the Organization in 1996 as Special Advisor to the Director-General for the Culture of Peace in the Great Lakes Region. Mr Satti joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan in 1975 after receiving a PhD in Literature from the Sorbonne in Paris.
