Uffe Andreasen

Former Permanent Delegate of Denmark to UNESCO, 1989-1998

Mr Uffe Andreasen holds a Master of Arts in Comparative History of Literature and has many years experience in working both with UNESCO and as Cultural Counsellor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and at Danish Embassies in Berlin and Paris. During his time in Paris, M. Andreasen was President of the Association France-Danemark.

Due to his many years of experience working both with UNESCO and cultural matters of Denmark, Uffe Andreasen served as a member of the Danish Government’s Year 2000 Fund and as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Danish Arts Council.

M. Andreasen worked as a senior research scholar in Comparative Literature at Copenhagen University and as Chief Editor of the publishing house Gyldendal, Copenhagen. This led to several published works within comparative literature. His most recent publication is "Diplomacy and Globalisation. An Introduction to Public Diplomacy" in 2007.
