Education Commission

1-3 and 7 November 2011

The Education Commission will examine five items on the agenda of the General Conference, discuss education-related issues in the conclusions of the 7th UNESCO Youth Forum, address the future of Education for All beyond 2015 and consider Major Programme I: Education in the Draft Programme and Budget for 2012-2013 (36 C/5).

The Commission will also examine specific items such as: educational and cultural institutions in the occupied Arab territories; the new strategy to make the International Bureau of Education a Centre of Excellence in Curriculum and the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED). Reports from Category I Institutes will be presented by the Chairpersons of their governing bodies in addition to a presentation on the Regional Education Project for Latin America and the Caribbean (PRELAC).
