The SC Commission will consider issues related to the Natural and Exact Sciences.

In particular, the Commission will consider:

• Part II.A: Major Programme II (Natural Sciences),
• Adoption of the Programme and budget for 2012-2013 for the Major Programme II (Natural Sciences).

Among other items the agenda includes: the establishment of category 2 institutes and centres under the auspices of UNESCO; the conclusion of the Youth Forum;  the UNESCO Engineering Initiative; the Global Geoparks Network; Statutes of the International Co-ordinating Council of the Programme on Man and the Biosphere (MAB) and the 40th Anniversary of the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) programme. There will also be a special event for the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the MAB programme.
