Alfred Fried Photography Award Exhibition on the theme of “What does peace look like?” is displayed from 6 to 17 November 2017.

The Library of the United Nations Office at Geneva and the UNESCO Geneva Liaison Office, with the support of the Permanent Mission of Austria to the United Nations in Geneva and the Edition Lammerhuber, will jointly organize the Alfred Fried Photography Award Exhibition on the theme of “What does peace look like?” from 6 to 17 November 2017.

The exhibition will feature 36 dazzling photos from the 4th edition of the Alfred Fried Photography Award which was held in 2016.

Selected among 16’883 photographs received from 127 countries, the exhibition’s pictures reflect a myriad of perspectives and approaches, showing that peace is an intensely personal concept, of which each human being has his/her own interpretation and understanding.

Held on the occasion of the 2017 Geneva Peace Week, the exhibition will be displayed in the Palais des Nations (Passerelle). The opening ceremony will take place on 7 November 2017 at 13h00.

Named to honor and to remember Alfred Hermann Fried, the Alfred Fried Photography Award is co-organized by UNESCO, the Austrian Parliament, the International Press Institute, the Austrian Parliamentary Reporting Association, the Photographische Gesellschaft and the Edition Lammerhuber.
