Han Meilin

Han Meilin, one of the most versatile artist in today’s China, was appointed UNESCO Artist for Peace in October 2015, in recognition of his long-term commitment to promoting art and artistic education in China, notably through projects led by the Han Meilin Art Foundation.

Han Meilin work’s cover a wide range of artistic forms, including calligraphy, porcelain, design and painting. He is mostly recognised across the world for his creation of the Fuwa dolls, the mascots for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

As President of the Han Meilin Foundation, he supports cultural education, artists and cultural programmes in Asia, Africa and around the world.

In his capacity as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, he presented in March 2017 an exhibition at UNESCO Headquarters entitled “The World of Meilin in Paris: Love & Peace”, which aimed to promote Chinese culture.
