Milton Masciadri

Milton Masciadri, a renowned double bass player from Uruguay, was designated UNESCO Artist for Peace in October 1998, in recognition of his contribution to the culture of peace through the world of music.

In his capacity as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, he promotes the musical education among young people and spreads a message of peace, tolerance and respect.

In January 2006, he performed with Mr Ino Mirkovic, another UNESCO Artist for Peace, during an International Conference on Security in the Age of Terrorism, conveying a message of peace and tolerance in the Theatre La Fenice in Venice, Italy.

In addition, Milton Masciadri gave a concert with Ino Mirkovic at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York and at Hodgson Concert Hall of the University of Georgia in October 2015. These concerts were both placed in the framework of the 70th anniversary of UNESCO and presented in collaboration with the Korean Chamber Orchestra.
