Seidnaly Sidahmed, Alphadi

Sidahmed Seidnaly aka Alphadi, a world-renowned Nigerian fashion designer, was appointed UNESCO Artist for Peace in January 2016.

His designation came in recognition of his commitment to culture and development in the service of peace, respect and human dignity and his contribution to the promotion of tolerance.

In 2012, he created the Alphadi Foundation with the aim of improving the living conditions of women and children in the Sahara.

Alphadi is President of the International Festival of African Fashion launched in 1998, under the auspices of UNESCO. Since then, the Festival has since become a place of exchange and dialogue between cultures from all over the world.
