Tania Libertad, UNESCO Artist for Peace

Tania Libertad, one of the greatest voices of Latin American song, was designated UNESCO Artist for Peace in October 1997, in recognition of her extraordinary contribution to musical expression that knows no boundaries, and promoting a culture of peace through music and singing.

In her capacity as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, Tania Libertad contributed to the success of the traveling exhibition "Iberoamerica pinta" organized by UNESCO. This exhibition, inaugurated in 1997, has traveled for 3 years to promote Ibero-American culture around the world. Ms. Libertad performed at the inaugural concerts of the exhibition in the cities of Amsterdam and Madrid.

In February 2013, she performed at UNESCO Headquarters to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her artistic career.
