The International Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra

The International Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra was appointed UNESCO Artist for Peace in April 1999, in recognition of their commitment to promote tolerance and culture of peace through their musical activities.

The Orchestra, made up of 120 singers and 40 musicians of over 15 different nationalities, offers a variety of symphonic and operatic repertoires, traditional Western, Slavic and Oriental.

In his capacity as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, the International Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra supports UNESCO campaign #UNITE4HERITAGE, which aims to highlight and safeguard cultural heritage and diversity around the world through concerts in historic monuments and at UNESCO Headquarters.

The International Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra also performed at UNESCO Headquarters to support the Organisation’s programme “Music and Peace in the Arab Countries” in the framework of the International Year for the Culture of Peace in February 2000.
