National Specialist on Education for Sustainable Development and Environmental Education

UNESCO Ha Noi is seeking a qualified, service-oriented and proactive professional to serve as a National Specialist on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Environmental Education.

The assignment will be based in the UNESCO Ha Noi Office for an intermittent period starting from September 2017 to April 2018.

Overall duties and responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Education Programme Specialist and in close collaboration with ESD Project Officer, the Specialist will review and provide comments on key project deliverables as follows:

  1. Review key deliverables submitted by implementing partners, including but not limited to, an ESD policy review report, ESD policy brief, ESD policy advocacy kit, desk review of Environmental Education Models, Materials and Frameworks, needs assessment for environmental education report, and the National Framework for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development;
  2. Provide critical and analytical feedback and recommendations based on sound knowledge  of ESD and Environmental Education for the improvement and development of the above-mentioned documents; and
  3. Attend related meetings and workshops as required.
