UNESCO PCPD participates in a working group for country based early recovery assessments
To respond effectively to post-conflict and post-disaster (PCPD) situations, UNESCO has strengthened cooperation with regional intergovernmental organizations and develop strategic partnerships with non-governmental organizations, professional associations and individuals involved in peace-building efforts.
In Zimbabwe, UNESCO has participated in various consultancies with government departments, non-governmental organisations and inter-governmental organisations such as the Ministry of Education & Culture, UNDP, IOM, and UNICEF to formulate policies for early recovery in educational disasters caused by the economic decline.
UNESCO is currently part of a working group, constructing Terms of Reference for country based early recovery assessments in education and UNESCO related activities.
