Toolkit for Mainstreaming HIV and AIDS in the Education Sector

© UNESCO

This toolkit and set of guidelines for development cooperation agencies aims to help education staff from development cooperation agencies, including both development and humanitarian-oriented multilateral and bilateral agencies as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other civil society organizations, to support the process of mainstreaming HIV and AIDS into education sector planning and implementation.

It provides resources and support to assess the progress countries have made with respect to HIV and AIDS mainstreaming; to identify entry points and opportunities; and to establish priorities for advocacy and action. It is designed to be used as a reference tool or a resource for training and discussion, depending on the local needs and context.

The Toolkit is available in English, French and Spanish (pdf format).

As part of a dissemination strategy to encourage use of the UNAIDS Inter-Agency Task Team (IATT) on Education’s Toolkit for Mainstreaming HIV and AIDS in the Education Sector, we are making available a Powerpoint Presentation (English, French, Spanish) to introduce the content of the Toolkit and further encourage its use at the country level.

This file can be adapted and used to support presentations at education development partners meetings, UNCT meetings, and other events.
