Chapter 2 – Supporting Coordination in the Education Sector Response to HIV and AIDS

This chapter discusses different types of coordination for effective education sector responses to HIV and AIDS, and UNESCO’s role within them, vis-à-vis other partners. It also provides advice on how to engage in coordinating mechanisms at country level and show leadership in the coordination of UN system support to the education sector response to HIV and AIDS.

How can I use Chapter 2?

• To identify all existing coordinating mechanisms at country level where the ministry of education is involved or should be involved, so that UNESCO can support this involvement if needed
• To organize my work with other UN agencies and partners, and prepare for meetings with colleagues from those agencies
