Conserving the priceless manuscripts of Najaf: Protecting the history of civilization
International and Iraqi experts, historians, and members of the world's intellectual society turn to Iraq as UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture launch a pioneering programme to conserve the priceless books and manuscripts of the city of Najaf, a main centre of Islamic and Arab religious and intellectual production.

Entrepreneurship courses start at the TVET centres in Kurdistan
After several months of preparation, UNESCO Office in Iraq and the Ministry of Labour and Social affairs (MOLSA) in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced on Monday 6 May 2013 the start of the courses planned in the framework of “Fighting Youth Unemployment through Education".

Iraq and UNESCO Join Forces to Safeguard Cultural Heritage in Iraq
On 27 May, UNESCO Director-General, Mrs. Irina Bokova, and the Minister of Sunni Endowment of Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Ghafoor Al-Samarai, together with the Governorate of Salah Al Din, represented by the Head of the Samarra Old City Committee, Mr. Omar Mohammed Hassan, signed three agreements for the preservation of the cultural heritage of Iraq.
