“Global Media Forum: The Role of Media in Realizing The Future We Want For All”
Journalists, government officials and stakeholders meet to discuss media’s role in global development and peace-building at three-day conference in Bali.
Media matter when it comes to peace-building and sustainable development – from promoting good governance to empowering the marginalized, they have the potential to drive change.
The “Global Media Forum: The Role of Media in Realizing The Future We Want For All” organized by UNESCO and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Indonesia in Bali from 26-28 August, will provide an international platform for debate and discussion on the integral role media and unhindered access to information play in human and social development.
The forum comes as the United Nations Millennium Goals are set to expire and debates are intensifying on the makeup of the Post-2015 development agenda. The journalists, government officials, scholars and other stakeholders attending the forum will develop the Bali Roadmap for Media and Development, the main outcome document of the forum which will serve as a key input into the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda
