SWITCH-in-Asia Hanoi Learning Alliance Meeting, Hanoi, 29 November 2012
The Learning Alliance meeting took place on the 29th of November 2012 at the Institute of Geological Sciences in Hanoi, Vietnam, within the framework of the SWITCH-in-Asia programme, an action research and demonstration programme that addresses the challenges faced by cities, towns and villages in providing efficient, safe and sustainable water and sanitation services for people, while preserving water and environmental resources.
The main actors of the water sector were invited to form multi-stakeholder partnerships aiming at promoting the effective communication of research activities and the scaling-up of research impacts in the field of water management for Ha Noi lakes and discuss the development of the SWITCH-in-Asia Cleaning and restoration of Ha Noi lakes project.
Following the inception Learning Alliance meeting held on the 28th of March 2012 at the Institute of Geological Sciences in Hanoi, the two objectives of the meeting were to share the results of initial research conducted on the lake Lang Thuong and to present some activities carried on by parties. The meeting was attended by 9 participants from 5 institutions. Presentations of the results of hydro geological and geophysical surveys as well as chemical analysis were followed by a report presentation from the National Centre for Rural Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Environmental Protection Agency - Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
