Total rainfall in December 2012 = mm 348.8 (UNESCO Rainfall Station)

December average: mm 224.9 (1984-2009 - Halim station, BMKG)

December Max: mm 563.7 (2007 - Halim station, BMKG)

December Min: mm 37.2 (1984 - Halim station, BMKG)

The rainfall in December 2012 is the third highest rainfall in 29 years (1984-2012).
The graphs below show the average monthly rainfall for Halim PK station (BMKG) for the period 1984-2009 (2,066 mm/year) and the current 2012 rain in UNESCO rainfall station.

The 2012 total rain is mm 2,055, very close to the 1984-2009 period average (mm 2,067), see graph below.

As a contribution to Climate Change and Variability data on precipitation, since February 2007 a rainfall station (manual pluviometer) is operational in UNESCO Jakarta Office. The parameters acquired by the station are P in mm, T in °C, EC in μS/cm, TSD in mg/l, salinity in g/l and pH. Besides the above parameters obtained on each single event, isotopes analyses for monthly samples were analysed from February 2007 to April 2011 and daily samples analysed from September 2009 to November 2010.

This station is also operating as a contribution to the HARIMAU Project (Hydrometeorological ARray for ISV-Monsoon AUtomonitoring) by Japan EOS Promotion Program (JEPP) and implemented by JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology), and Indonesian partners BPPT (Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology),  BMKG (Agency for Meteorology and Geophysics) and LAPAN (National Institute of Aeronautics and space). From September 2007 daily events are collected for JAMSTEC which is performing stable isotopes (18-O and 2-H) analyses on rain water from the South China Sea.
