Working Group Meeting to Finalize Supplemental Illustrative Manuals of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for youth in closed setting centres

On Monday, 23rd September 2013, Health Promotion Center, Ministry of Health and UNESCO Jakarta co-organized a meeting to Finalize Supplemental Illustrative Manuals of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) for youth in closed setting centres.

In the meeting’s opening remarks, Meeyoung Choi, PhD, Program Specialist in Education, UNESCO Jakarta, and drg. Marlina, on behalf of dr. Lily Sulistyowati, MM, welcomed the collaboration efforts to improve HIV education for youth in juvenile detention center. Dr. Wicaksono, Director of Family Planning, BKKBN committed to distribute the facilitators manuals during a National Program –Jambore Kesehatan Reproduksi- which will be conducted in 2014.

The main recommendations which emerged during the workshop are:
1. To endorse the facilitator books and the book for youth by the Ministry of Health, BKKBN, and Directorate of Correctional Institutes

2. To distribute the books for youth in juvenile detention centers

3. To continue the program, by conducting need assessment analysis and facilitators’ training at juvenile detention centers

4. To strengthen multi sectoral approaches in CSE education
