Education for Sustainable Development

The world we lived in is getting older. Disaster happens every seconds and everywhere. And as a creature who take advantage of all the world resources, we need to be responsible for sustainability of it for our future generations. 

To build the sense of belonging for the world, long term of learning and education needs to be develop. Human mind and action is not only the result of nature, but also through a process of nurture. The urge to develop the sense of sustainable environment for sustainable development is increasing.

UNESCO has been recognized as the lead agency of Education for Sustainable Development. UNESCO supports countries to build ESD capacities, generate and scale-up actions, focusing on key issues - climate change, biodiversity, disaster risk reduction, water, cultural diversity, sustainable urbanization and sustainable lifestyles - as entry points for promoting sustainable development practices through education. All of these demands, advises policy-makers to integrate ESD into education plans and curricula.
