Journalism workshop for Afghan National Radio and Television Staff

A thirteen-day workshop in November, conducted for Afghanistan’s National Radio and Television Staff on the principles of Journalism and news production. The workshop facilitated by Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan, a local media organization, with the support from UNESCO Kabul Office.

10 staff working on news production of National Radio and Television of Afghanistan participated to the training which was consisted of both theory and practical parts.

Mr. Ahmad Jawid a participant to the training said, “This training was a good opportunity for us to enhance our work experience with new techniques and methods of producing better quality news.” He expressed his desire to have more of such training in the future.

Afghanistan has experienced tremendous developments in media since 2001. UNESCO Kabul Office’s Communication and Information sector, works along with the Ministry of Information and Culture and media professional to improve the quality of fast growing media outlets.

UNESCO Kabul has been supporting Afghanistan’s National Radio and Television of Afghanistan and Educational Radio and Television since 2003 in different aspects of capacity building and equipments.
