Ministry officials to participate in EFA 2015 review technical workshop

The Ministry of Education (MoE) officials will have their capacity enhanced to improve and finalize the national Education for All (EFA) reports based on feedback and inputs from experts and peers during a “regional technical feedback workshop on the national EFA 2015 reviews” organized jointly by the UNESCO Office in Bangkok and UNICEF from 29 to 30 April 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The aim of the workshop is to ensure that the national EFA reports document country progress on EFA as accurately as possible using disaggregated data and appropriate indicators, identify enabling and hindering factors and provide inputs for regional and international debates on the post-2015 education agenda.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for country teams to share and learn from each on the review processes, data issues, methodologies, and any other issue related to the preparation of the national EFA reports. It will also provide technical feedback on specific components or parts of the draft national EFA 2015 review reports and agree on the next steps for finalizing and submitting the draft reports.

In this connection a team from Nepal comprising Mr. Mahashram Sharma, joint secretary, MoE and EFA national coordinator, Mr. Ghanshyam Aryal, Chief, Monitoring and Evaluation section, Department of Education and Tap Raj Pant, National Programme Officer in education unit at UNESCO Office in Kathmandu are currently participating in the workshop.
