Reorientation program on Climate Change Education for Sustainable Development


The UNESCO Office in Kathmandu and Jeevan Bikas Samaj, Morang district, jointly organized a one-day orientation workshop on 14 August 2014 in Biratnagar, Nepal on Climate Change Education for Sustainable Development (CCESD) in the community schools.

The workshop was organized to develop model schools on CCESD at the community level as part of  UNESCO’s CCESD program.  

More than 50 participants attended the workshop from different sectors like community schools’ stakeholders, Jeevan Bikas Public school's stakeholders, local community representatives and representatives of district level line agencies.

The workshop was chaired by Yogendra Mandal, the Executive Director of Jeevan Bikas Samaj, and Tap Raj Pant, National Program Officer of the UNESCO Office in Kathmandu.

They even highlighted the main objectives of the CCESD program for the participants.  All the participating schools of the workshop will prepare action plans to promote climate change education in their respective activities.
