15th Annual L’ORÉAL-UNESCO Awards and Fellowships for Women in Science
Founded in 1998, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science partnership was created to recognize and promote women in science. Its programs reward established women scientists whose outstanding achievements have contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge and of its benefits to society, and provide support to promising young women scientists with worthy, viable projects. Over the past 15 years For Women in Science has expanded internationally to become truly global and has supported more than 1700 women in 108 countries. Sixteen young women received the UNESCO-L'OREAL International Fellowship and presented their research at a ceremony held on 26 March 2013 at the Observatoire de Paris. On 28 March 2013, the five Laureates will be honoured at an Awards ceremony in Paris.
