Japan (Mt Odaigahara, Mt Omine & Osugidani Biosphere Reserve) Extension & renaming

Designated as Mount Odaigahara and Mount Omine Biosphere Reserve in 1980, the site in the Kii Peninsula of Honshu Island is a mountainous area in which forestry is a more developed activity than agriculture. The extension increases the surface area of the site to 120,000 ha, compared to the 36,000ha of reserve earlier.
