Deadline: 22 May 2018 at 11:00 p.m. (GMT+2)

The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) and UNESCO are funding post-doctoral research felloships and a summer student programme in order to further promote basic science education, research in basic sciences and engineering and increase North-South cooperation. This programme is open to undergraduates finishing their third year of study, or any graduate students in their first year of masters or PhD worldwide.

The programme aims to provide an enabling environment for postdoctoral fellows to carry out research, and attract students from around the world to gain relevant work experience in one of JINR’s seven laboratories which house different fields of research including: Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, Neutron Physics, Condensed Matter Physics, Networking, Computing and Computational Physics, Radiobiology, Accelerator Physics, Particle Detector and Applied Research Using Nuclear Physics Methods.

The programme will run from June until September, and each student will receive 6 to 8 weeks of dedicated practice on a JINR research project. Selected Postdoctoral Fellows will have the opportunity to carry out research using the JINR laboratory facilities; the duration of stay is this case will be 3 months.  In both cases, travel expenses, accommodation and DSA for all selected participants will be fully covered.

Upon completion of the programme, students will be requested to complete a report based on their research project to be showcased on the JINR website. For your guidance, please consult the complete list of current JINR projects.
