Cameroon contributes $290.000 to UNESCO’s Emergency Fund
UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova has expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Government of Cameroon for its decision to donate 150 million CFA francs (about $290.000) to UNESCO’s multi-donor Emergency Fund.
“I would like to express my gratitude for this gesture of commitment and solidarity,” said the Director-General.
“I am very touched by this generous decision. This, and the government’s initiative to make an advanced payment of much of the statutory contribution of Cameroon in 2012, are further proof of the commitment of this country to the ideals of the Organization and to the continuation of its activities, which focus as a priority on Africa,” she continued.
