Hedva Ser as Godmother of the 6th edition of the Andorra Art Camp

The 6th edition of Art Camp was held in Ordino from 9th to 21st July 2018 in the principality of Andorra. UNESCO Special Envoy for Cultural Diplomacy, Hedva Ser, has been the godmother of the initiative since 2012.

Entitled Art Camp-Andorra, Colors for the Planet, the artistic event, organized by the National Commission of Andorra for UNESCO and the city of Ordino, gathered artist-painters from different countries including those in conflict situation.

These Art Camp encounters already bear an international notoriety as they bring together artists of different generations around key topics for our societies and meet UNESCO programs and priorities such as cultural diversity, social inclusion and gender equality, using Art as a mediation tool.

Art pieces made during previous editions have already been displayed during travelling exhibitions through European capitals, as well as headquarters of international organizations such as UNESCO, the United Nations in New York and Geneva, the European Council and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

The 2018 edition of Art Camp-Andorra was part of the International Decade for the Rapprochement of Culture (2013-2022) declared by the UNESCO to promote a culture of peace and intercultural dialogue.

Hedva Ser’s mission, through her role as UNESCO Special Envoy for Cultural Diplomacy and Godmother of Art Camp, resonates with the mission of UNESCO to encourage a culture of dialogue, respect and coexistence through artistic encounters.
