Upcoming workshop on the implementation of the 2003 Convention to be held in the Dominican Republic
With the collaboration of the Dominican National Commission for UNESCO and with finance provided by the Intangible Heritage Fund, thanks to the generous contribution of the Kingdom of Norway, the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean is now in the final stage of organising a capacity-building workshop in relation to the implementation of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), which will be held in Santo Domingo from 11 to 15 March 2013.
The workshop, which falls within the framework of the project "Strengthening national capacities for the effective safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Aruba and Haiti" features the participation of two recognised specialists in the field of intangible culture who will serve as facilitators: Ms Adriana Molano from Colombia and Mr Edis Sánchez from the Dominican Republic.
