The European Union at the UNESCO Youth Forum
Youth from more than 150 countries have gathered at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris for the 8th Youth Forum Convention, running from the 29th – 31st October, under the general theme of ‘Youth and Social Inclusion: Civic Engagement, Dialogue and Skills Development’.
A number of events have been put in place, such as workshops, 15 Minutes of Fame and “the Marketplace”. “The Marketplace” allows for partners and sponsors to hosts stands, giving young participants the opportunity to meet and exchange, and enabling partner and sponsors to benefit from considerable visibility among the youth.
On the European Union stand, representatives from Injep (Institut National de la Jeunesse et de l’Education Populaire), the European Commission and the Delegation of the European Union to UNESCO and the OECD have been present. The Salto-Youth and the Euromed Youth Programmes proposed by Injep, as well as youth programmes under the European Commission, such as Youth Volunteering, European Youth Portal and European Youth Action Program, have attracted many young participants and have contributed to the success of the stand.
