On 19 November, Mr Ole Søe Eriksen, Deputy Director of the Nordic World Heritage Foundation (NWHF), and Mr Vincent Defourny, Director of the Division for Cooperation with Extrabudgetary Funding Sources, signed an amendment to the standing agreement between UNESCO and the NWHF, by which the NWFF will provide an additional contribution of USD 84,588 to reinforce the current project in favour of the safeguarding of Myanmar’s natural heritage.

The objective of the project is to enhance the national capacities in applying the World Heritage Convention to protect natural heritage in Myanmar, enabling holistic approaches to sites management with the involvement of local communities and vision of long-term sustainability.
