UNESCO reaches out to Australian CEOs
The CEO Institute joined with UNESCO in 2013 as Australia’s first partner supporting the “Malala Fund for Girls’ Right to Education”, and has invited UNESCO’s Director of the Division of Cooperation with Extrabudgetary Funding Sources, Mr. Vincent Defourny, to Australia in January 2014 to address business leaders in Sydney and Brisbane.
Through its partnership with UNESCO, The CEO Institute makes a donation to the "Malala Fund for Girls' Right to Education" for every Certified CEO obtaining certification via the academic pathway. “We have linked this initiative with the global rollout of our Certified CEO designation because it aligns with our commitment in our own particular field towards life-long learning and the continuing professional development of business leaders. And it resonates with the continuing need to improve the opportunities for women in business,” said Mr. Ken Gunn, Chairman & CEO of The CEO Institute.
Mr. Gunn hopes that Mr. Defourny’s visit will help publicise this most inspiring of stories, not only to their own membership of over a thousand Australian businesses, but well beyond.
