AIBD/FES Publication on Broadcasting for All: Focus on Gender - Guidelines Contextualized and Translated to Vietnamese

AIBD together with UNESCO–Ha Noi and the Ministry of Information and Communications in Viet Nam have collaborated to contextualize and translate the English version of the AIBD-FES Publication Broadcasting for All: Focus on Gender to Vietnamese language.

This was the very first achievement to operationalize the guidelines and translate into the local language.

The project, which was completed in October 2011, also included an in-country workshop which was organized within the framework of the Government of Vietnam/UN Joint Programme on Gender Equality and funded by the Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund where twenty three participants from media organizations in Vietnam familiarized the guidelines.

Participants exchanged on the new laws, gender equality, domestic violence and migration and trafficking during the training. The national consultant for the workshop was Dr. Le Thi Qui while the AIBD consultants were Jai Chandiram from India and Anothai Udomsilp from Thailand.

The co-coordinator was Heidi Kivekas from UNESCO–Ha Noi."Broadcasting for All: Focus on Gender", published in early 2011 by AIBD and supported by FES, was a result of a long-term project based on extensive research, review and analysis carried out in AIBD member countries and undertaken by a working group from a broad range of countries beyond the geographical boundaries of the Asia-Pacific region.
