Director-General to Receive Honours with New Graduates at Durham University

The Director-General will receive an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Durham University, one of Britain’s oldest universities, excelling in league tables in the UK and world, during a graduation ceremony on 29 June.

She will also visit Durham Castle and Cathedral, inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1986 as one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in England.

During the afternoon, she will give a lecture on UNESCO’s role in building peace and sustainability in the 21st century, to be attended by experts in heritage, conflict resolution and education, including Baroness Andrews, Chair of English Heritage.
