Irina Bokova visits the United Kingdom to meet National Commissions for UNESCO and promote Rapprochement of Cultures
From 4 to 6 June 2010, the Director-General of UNESCO will be in London to attend the Regional Consultation of the UNESCO National Commissions from Europe and North America on the preparation of the Organization’s Draft Programme and Budget for 2012–2013.
This is the first time a UNESCO Director-General takes part in such a meeting with National Commissions from these regions.
While in the UK, Irina Bokova will meet Alan Duncan, Minister of State for International Development and will deliver a lecture on ‘UNESCO, the World of Islam and the Rapprochement of Cultures’ at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
