Learn, Share, Network: eLearning Africa 2009, Senegal, 27-29 May
This year’s eLearning Africa focuses on ICT for development, education and training on the African continent. Its mission is to bring together annually those who are actively engaged in education and in the implementation of learning technologies in schools, universities, corporate training as well as in education in the public sector.
UNESCO along with Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie, the World Bank, UNESCO and UNEP will feature projects, initiatives and successes in the field of ICT and education.
Highlights of the conference include how to make open source solutions sustainable; debate about the open educational resources movement in Africa; mobile learning and the lack of reliable terrestrial Internet access in Africa; the integration of ICTs to improve the quality of teaching and learning and how ICTS are being used to support teacher training.
Participants include Ministers of Education, representatives from government agencies, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), development agencies and international organisations, senior executives from businesses, as well as practitioners from all fields of education.
