Media and the Caribbean Justice System

TV Court in association with UNESCO Kingston Cluster Office for the Caribbean will organise a series of workshops on the Media and the Caribbean Justice System in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.

The workshops, to be funded by the UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication, will examine the conditions of courting reporting and make recommendations for their improvement.

 

Under the theme, "Upgrading Regional Media Capacity to Report on the Region's Justice System", the series will focus on how the media can improve their reporting on legal issues.

 

The fist in the series is a regional workshop to be held in Jamaica on 3-5 September 2008. Attending will be regional legal experts, government officials and practitioners in the media.

 

TV Court is a television programme that started in Jamaica and now being expanded to other parts of the Caribbean through the support of UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication.
