New UNEVOC Centre in Nigeria

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Nigeria has been accepted to become a UNEVOC Centre.

NBTE hence joins an international network in the area of technical and vocation education and training (TVET).

The UNEVOC Network comprises more than 280 specialized TVET institutions the so-called UNEVOC Centres - in more than 165 UNESCO Member States.

It is a unique platform for sharing knowledge and experiences regarding all aspects of TVET.

Initial membership of 4 years

The membership of NBTE in the UNEVOC Network will be for an initial period of four years, after which the institution will reconfirm its membership and give a description of TVET-related activities carried out during the period.

National UNEVOC Centres should ideally be focal point for guiding a national network of technical and vocational education institutions.

The membership of NBTE was endorsed by the Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO. Variety of tools The international exchange and sharing of information is key to the success of the the UNEVOC Network.

The UNEVOC Centres achieve this through various communication tools available on the UNESCO-UNEVOC website, including the UNEVOC Network Portal, the e-Forum and TVETipedia.
