Promoting grey water use for sustainable food production in Oman

UNESCO, in cooperation with the National Commission for UNESCO to Oman, promoted grey water use for sustainable food production in rural and suburban areas through a training workshop including a study field visit, organized in Oman with regional participation in mid-December 2015.

The training focused on grey water use for sustainable food production in rural and suburban areas on the Arabian Peninsula and contributed to strengthening Science, Technology and Innovation Policies through governance, awareness and capacity-building.

The workshop led to the development of a brochure used to identify and promote best practices for grey water reuse for food productions in rural and suburban areas.

The training raised awareness among decision-makers and water technicians on Water governance and Water reuse to better manage water demands in rural and suburban areas.
