Replacement of the telephone system

Message for the Permanent Delegations having offices in UNESCO premises (Miollis)

Over the past few years, you may have experienced problems with your telephone communications. This is due to the fact that our current telephone system is outdated.

Today, after many months of work, we are pleased to announce the upcoming change of your telephone system, under a project approved by the Headquarters Committee.

To make this system replacement as smooth as possible, we would like to count on your cooperation, in particular as regards access to your offices. We will, of course, make every effort in order to minimize any disturbance of your normal work.

From 10 to 26 January, the company NXO will come to your offices during working hours to deliver the new telephone equipment. The new telephone set will be placed next to your current device and will become operational from 29 January 2018. In this context, we count on your collaboration to facilitate access to your offices.

During the initial phase of the system replacement, you will receive your new telephone sets (unplugged and placed next to your current equipment, which will remain operational). This will take place during the normal working hours.

During the last weekend of January 2018, the new telephone system will be activated and available for use. At the same time, we will collect the old telephones from your offices in the presence of security agents and plug in the new sets. Please see in the picture below the timeline of these operations.

We will keep you informed by email on the progress of this project and provide you with additional information shortly.

We are confident that the above change will greatly improve your future communication experience. Should you, however, have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at the following address: kmi.info(a)unesco.org.
